Myrcene

Aroma: Earthy, musky, herbal with hints of clove and tropical fruit

Boiling point: 168°C (334°F)

The most abundant terpene in cannabis, found in nearly every strain. Myrcene is the primary driver behind the "indica effect" — heavy body relaxation and sedation. Strains with >0.5% myrcene tend to produce couch-lock. It also enhances THC absorption across the blood-brain barrier, potentially intensifying psychoactive effects.
